As each joint passes through the EMI unit, the system reads the magnetic flux around the pipe wall to flag defects, wall loss, pitting, and other imperfections you cannot see from the outside. Paired with a trained visual inspection of the body, ends, and connections, it gives operators, mills, and suppliers a clear picture of pipe condition before anything goes downhole.
