EMI & Visual Inspection at Petros Tubular Services

Electromagnetic inspection (EMI) is the backbone of oil country tubular inspection, and it is what Petros Tubular Services runs day in and day out. As each joint passes through the EMI unit, the system reads the magnetic flux around the pipe wall to flag defects, wall loss, pitting, and other imperfections you cannot see from the outside. Paired with a trained visual inspection of the body, ends, and connections, it gives operators, mills, and suppliers a clear picture of pipe condition before anything goes downhole.

What we check

  • Full-length electromagnetic scanning for longitudinal and transverse defects
  • Wall thickness variation and wall loss
  • Pitting, corrosion, and mechanical damage
  • Grade verification and comparison
  • Visual inspection of the pipe body, ends, and connections

Standards & documentation

Performed to API 5CT SR1 and SR2, or to your own written specification. Every job comes with documented results you can put in your records and act on with confidence.
